Lineage of the House

Skincare composed from the record of antiquity, crafted with precision, and meant to feel as considered on the skin as it is in the mind.

Origin

Ricardo Amaro, Founder

Ricardo Amaro founded Priestess® to bring ancient practice back into use, and to teach what survives behind it. The house is built on a simple view: beauty was public language, a signal of status and self possession, repeated daily and taken seriously.

Formed in Rome, near the precinct of Vesta, the idea began as a Classicist’s question of evidence and method, then became a modern practice held to standards you can feel on the skin.

House Notes

House language

We mark each release plainly so you can read what you’re holding.

  • Vesta mark, the house seal
  • Roman numerals, the formula index
  • Month in Latin, the batch month
Batches

Production is issued in dated batches, with the batch entry kept in the website archive and the batch name printed on the enclosed card.

  • The batch month is written in Latin
  • The public entry sits in our archive, not on the bottle
  • Each order includes the batch card inside the box
